Today is October 18, 2009. I wish I'd started this blog [almost] 4 years ago when Reese was born! However, I plan to fill it with some of my funniest memories anyway, so I have a place where they are written down.
As of today, Reese is exactly 1-month shy of his 4th birthday. I can seriously hardly believe I've been a Mom for 4 years! It doesn't feel that long. Teagan is 2 years and 4 months old. They are both bright, daring, adventurous, articulate and fun! A Mom who had volunteered in Reese's preschool class stopped me in the parking lot yesterday. I'd never met her. She told me she'd volunteered and that Reese was "so witty". She said "It was like I was talking to a little man who was making jokes to me! I thought Wow!...this kid's got a great personality!". Daddy was very proud to hear this review. :) Reese has a pretty amazing sense of humor...custom installed by his Daddy!
Before I leave, I will include my most recent awesome "Mom" moment. One of those times when I just had to LAUGH. I am leaving Staples pushing a cart. Reese is riding on the front end, and Teagan is riding the end I am pushing. We are about to go down the ramp to cross the street to the parking lot when a car pulls up and motions for us to cross in front of them. Just then, Reese decides he wants to ride where Teagan is riding (of course!). He jumps off, comes to my end and jumps on with Teagan just as I go down the ramp. Well...with his weight added on, and the downward slope of the ramp, the cart completely did a back-flip ON TOP of my two kids! They were flipped onto their backs - the entire cart on top of them - IN THE STREET - IN FRONT OF THE WAITING CAR! I could not save the cart from flipping onto them. They both started to cry a little - but I could tell they weren't hurt and I, of course, was MORTIFIED and did NOT look up at the car! I just told them both sternly to get up and WALK! The kids stopped fussing and walked. I can't even imagine what that looked like to the passengers of that car, but I'm certain they would like to nominate me for "Mom of the Year" award! :) Ahhhh....just another day in the life! ha ha Gotta love it....and I do. :)
